94 4 runner

I have a 94 4 runner 4x4. I've attempted to remove the driver's side valve cover in order to replace the gasket. After successfully removing all the bolts I could not for the life of me remove the cover. Any advise on how to get the bugger off? Yes it's a 3.0L.

You might get more of a response if you post in the 2nd Gen forum.
Welcome to T4R, by the way.
