i have a 93 toyota pickup Automatic 4x4 22re motor, Truck runs great until check engine light comes on. When it comes on my truck idles rough and when taking off from a stop it feels like im in a higher gear until i get up to around 40mph then it feels fine. When taking off in first gear in takes off fine but when i shift to 2nd or into drive my truck acts like its going to die. If i let truck sit for a coupl hrs then check engine light goes off and everthing is normal again. This happens usually once a month. What could be the problem???

 

You might want to check what code is causing the light to come on.

ive done it before by using jumper wire and check engine light blinked . I will do it tomorrow and see what it pops up and let u know

 

Check for air leaks and mis-routed hoses. I have had Check Engine Lights with no codes and has been from air leaks.
