93 SR5 rear driver tire sticking

Hello, I have a 93 SR5 v-6 manual transmission. The problem I am having is when I start out the rear driver tire will drag. This only happens when I drive forward not in reverse. I can stop an back up and sometimes it will break free. Is this a brake issue or is it the splines on the spindle? Any thoughts?

Welcome to yotatech. A few questions first. Did your truck just start doing this or has it been doing it for a while? Have you done anything recently with the breaks or rear end? It could be something simple like the rear breaks are out of adjustment. If you just did the breaks this can happen. Also if the breaks need to be replaced they might be causing problems as well. Any squeaking in the breaks before this happened?

No I haven't done anything with the brakes, but the truck does not get driven a lot, and it tends to happen more in the winter than the summer.

Another guy said something about the splines on the rear spindle not meshing with the rear end. Could this be the problem and how difficult of a fix would it be?

Take the rear drums off and see what's going on. When it froze down here last year mine would have water freeze inside the drum after a creek crossing and letting it sit a few hours.

I'd be very surprised if it wasn't one of these or a stuck star wheel adjuster.
