Have trouble getting fuel from pump. The pump works but will not come on at all. Is there a way that I can put the pump on a switch or not. Will it work off a switch and run or what?

Not sure I'm understanding that it works but won't come on? And sure you can put a switch to anything but why wouldn't you fix the problem so you don't have a switch to mess with.

But are you saying you have verified with another power source to the pump that it kicks on and will not with the factory wiring??

Give us a little more info

When I was sorting out my pump issues, I ran a switch in-line to the pump & a jumper wire to the Battery.. if I recall, it was the blue wire in the wireing located under the passenger seat. once my pump tested fine I traced out the rest and found the break in the circut and did away with the by-pass.

Thank you for your help. Going to run it from a switch and hopefully it will run good until I can find what is wrong with it.
