89 4runner no start

just bought the truck ans kindof a project truck, went and looked at it started and ran perfect drove good, all stock just with 31's. only problem i saw with the truck was the o2 sensor was cut out of the exhaust and was hanging...idk why, but still ran fine so i wasnt worried at the time, long storry short, i gave him my price, told him to call me. that day he drove the truck and it broke down he had it towed home....called me back the next day and asked if i was still interested. me (not knowing the truck had broken down) bought the truck....so far ive found the truck not to be making a spark...so ive replace the coil and igniter, which helped nothing. car turns over freely, starter is fine. not sure if the motor is an interference or not...havent check the timing belt but dont here any metal banging noise in the motor. o and its the 3vze. any advice would be great, thanks

from what i understand. its a 22re/r or a v6 3.0 well its not a interference on the v6 3.0 so u should be good. does the engine crank over faster then normal would mean that the timing belt is broken.. pull off the cover and have a look at of it... timing belt should be replaced about every 80k miles or so... aslong as u keep up the preventive maintenace on your rigg it should last a life time

the o2 sensor controls all of that.. your on the right track.. if you have a california model truck you have 2 o2 sensor before and after the catlityic convert

and there is a sensor on the intake aswell where the egr line hooks up. to the intake..

took apart the distributor today and everything was spinning and working right, so the belt is still together, is there anyway that the computer could have fried? i took a plug out and turned over the motor a couple times, i didnt smell any fuel and the plugs were perfectly dry so im guessing im not getting fuel either

if the o2 sensor is not hooked up.. it will constanly throw the check engine light on.. look in the manual.. goggle up "what a o2 sensor actually does"

Not on an OBDI motor. One O2 sensor under the DS door in front of the cat.

Check the EFI fuse under the dash.

Only the pre-84 models. All 84+ 22R and 22RE's have dished pistons and a taller deck height. They are non-interference motors.
