88 Land cruiser help

Ok here is the deal my girlfriend just gave me here 1988 Land cruiser and the only thing that is wrong with it is that it over heats and I have already tried replacing the thermostat but it still does the same thing. Any advice would be great. Thanks

what kind of shape is the fluid in? (colorwise). Radiator look alright (no excessive bent fins....)?

How about the radiator fan. That will do it quicker than anything. I'm assuming its a mechanical clutched fan, check the clutch. When you spin the fan does it seem loose or is there resistance. (there should be a fair amount of resistance).
