Unhappy 87 yota 22re injector problem please help

ive just bought a 87 toyota 22re 4x4 someone has put a motor in it but it just starts and dies then wont start back, i can spray starting fuild in it and it will start up and keep running by itself just runs bad like its not getting enough fuel. someone has put what looks to be newer injectors in it cause the had to cut and splice different connectors. i checked everything its getting fuel to injectors but doesnt seem to be getting fuel out of injectors. ive tested the injector plugs there pulsating like they should. Is it possible the injectors are clogged up, cause i took fuel rail off an it had a ton of trash in it and top of injectors i cleaned it and all the injectors but still no inprovement any ideas??

Ive replaced alot of injectors in my time and i never had to cut and splice wiring harneses while doing it, i cant even imagine what kinda hack job this is.

id try to find some correct injectors, refurbs can be bought rather cheaply, i dont know what i would do about the harness, hit the junk yard.

injectors have differant spray rates and ammounts, you cant just pull an injector out of a 93 pontiac and throw it off in a 87 toyota it might fit but it aint gonna run right

Has the swapped engine ever ran? Typically the different injector connectors = different injector resistance = different ECU to drive the injectors.
