'87 pickup with electrical issue...
Ok, so maybe this questioned has been asked before, but I haven't found it on here. If so, I apologize, please point me in the right direction.
Now, on to my problem...
I own an '87 Pickup and one morning several weeks ago, it wouldn't start...The starter doesnt spin, click or anything...also, the accessories dont have electricity at all, radio, dash lights, blinkers, wipers, etc. The headlights and the charge light on the dash do, so I thought it was the ignition switch. I replaced it, and nothing changed. Please...somebody help. My wife and I have had to share a vehicle for a month or so now and its quite frustrating.

Do you own a multimeter?
Have you ever updated the ground cables or the positive cable to the starter.
You need to start someplace Battery voltage?/
Fusible link ? Your not getting the correct voltage to the ignition switch
Did anything happen before this started??
You don`t want to just throw parts at this hoping you get lucky

I dont own a multimeter and I'm not real familiar with their operation, haven't updated any cables, battery voltage(?), I will check fusible link this PM, nothing happened that I noticed, and I have a bad habitof throwing parts and hoping I get lucky(starter when it was a loose battery cable, clutch master cylinder when it was the slave, and now the ignition switch)...needless to say, autozone loves me...

Ok, let's get smart here. Do you have a TEST LIGHT? If not get one.
Start from the battery and check all cables and connections. From there the + goes to the fuse block on the passenger side inner fender. Check for power at the big fuse that feeds into everything. Next check the ground cable @ the battery and trace it to your fender ground point. I believe stock mine only had one ground point & it was on the fender!!!! (SMH)
A bonding (ground) wire from the battery straight to the engine block is a good place begin. If yours has one check both ends of it.
Most of all, ARE YOU SURE THE BATTERY IS CHARGED????? If that doesn't fix it let me know and I'll pull up the schematic.

I do have a circuit tester...and I'm fairly certain that its not the battery, as I attempted a jump start before I realized the accessories weren't working. I will check out those things you suggested and get back to you...thanx much.
