86 pickup

I was wondering if you can take the oil pan off an 86 pickup without lifting the engine? Thanks

See if the nuts on the valve cover are cranked down to tight that will cause a noise somewhat like a rod knocking

I just adjusted the valves and timing. It was coming from the bottom, but I know a rod doesn't get quite again once it starts. I'm a lil stumped on this one? Thanks again
