86-95 Truck Pre-purchase inspection

After spending some time using the search function I failed to find a pre-purchase inspection list for a 86-95 Truck w/4x4. Can someone with experience with these trucks please post one up. I'm possibly going to go look at a truck that's for sale this weekend and want to take a print out of the pre-purchase inspection list with me when I go to look at it. Thanks.

You are not going to find such a creature.

Common sense should prevail.

X3 If you have no idea what to look for start reading these threads about common issues of these trucks.

Depending where your skills lie some things are more important then others.

Does your state have a safety inspection that is a good list to start.

Pretty simple look for any massive damage or big huge puddles under around said vehicles.

check the fluids look at the over all condition of engine bay . if your good with electrical pay no attention to the mess that once was a wiring harness.

The fact that the spark plug wires are all different colors and makes and lengths should be just fine.

upper radiator hose replaced with a heater hose and cobbled up fittings.

The need to pump up all the tires and cut out the tree growing up through the hole in the bed interesting things like that

Inspection sticker from before you were born!!! although it is a daily driver well sort of

take the chicken coop out of the bed before taking it for a drive.

The 4 tarp straps that keep the shifter from shaking to hard

I have seen all these things and a bunch more in 30 plus years looking at vehicles.

You sort of then process all this information on a lower level:jessica:

Thanks for your input. I was hoping that someone had already compiled a list of common issues for these trucks, but I guess not. Unfortunately I was never able to go look at the truck I was interested in, but there's always new ones showing up for sale so it's no biggie.

There are other forums that might offer a detailed list.
I'd recommend locating a vehicle with a documented maintenance history. Several owners document everything from fuel to oil
changes. I maintain a file on all of our vehicles with all maintenance noted. Huge when you go to sell the vehicle.
Might even be helpful to have a Toyota dealer do a pre-purchase inspection once you have found a vehicle that interests you.
