For about a month my truck would sometimes die at stop signs. Then 2 weeks ago the radio would die and then comeback on while driving. A week ago it died and I couldn't get it started. It would turn over but acted like it wasn't getting fuel. I looked under the hood and found the positive battery cable had been rubbing on the battery hold down bracket until the insulation wore through and then started shorting out until that part of bracket melted through and fell off. Half the cable had meled so I fixed that and checked all fuses. Still wouldn't start. Fuel pump wasn't working when I tried to start. I pulled relay switch and used a jump wire and fuel pump came on when I turned key on but when I turned motor over it still wouldn't start and acted like it wasn't getting fuel and the voltage meter in dash only went to half when trying to start. The relay switch could have fried with the short but why will it still not start bypassing it? Could that short have fried something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

I think I am going to sell it. What could I get for it?
