82, carb or EFI is the question

First off, Hi everybody.

My carb is dieing on a steep incline and I was wanting switch to EFI (not sure that'll solve it though). But my question is how hard is it to switch to the EFI system or is there a carb that will or solution to getting the gas on those tuff hills. I know there's alot of guys with carbs so what am I missing.

Thanks in advance.

That's exactly why people go to EFI!

If it's a 22R, it shouldn't be too tough, but some changes will be required because you have the "older" block. You should try searching until someone who knows more etails chimes in...

If you decide to switch to EFI, it might be easier to switch to the older fuel injection system from a 22REC. That is the fuel injection system used on Celicas. It would be easier on the early block. I believe you should also change to an EFI camshaft to do it correctly, but I could be mistaken.

prolly easier to get a FI 22re w/ ECU, etc and swap that in.

why not figure the carb prob? last time fuel filter changed? timing? many small (easy) things to check.
