3vz-e Issues

I just got finished with a head gasket job on my 95 4runner. The motor starts fine, runs stong, no funny noises, but it does wobble side to side a bit (about 1/2") while the engine is running. Is this normal and if not what kind of problems is this indicative of. Truck idles at 800 rpm with no studder or pop.

Assuming everything is running well, and timing is good... movement can come from worn or damaged motor mounts.

If it's really moving side to side, you might find the tranny mounts are worn as well... or will be getting worn more and more without the engine mounts effectively taking up the torque loads.

Motor Mounts

I just put in new motor mounts while the heads were off and tranny mounts appear in good shape. I will recheck though. thanks
