3 in Trail Gear lift

Im looking to get a 3in trail gear for my 84 standard cab and was wonderin if the three inch lift is a true 3in lift or is it taller because of the five inch shackles or if the shackles are added into the said "3in lift"?

If you mean the 3" classic lift that is about a grand, it lifts you a little more that the 3" indicated by the springs. Since T-G springs are longer than stock, you replace the front spring hanger. That adds an additional 1" or so. The shackles are slightly longer than stock to account for the longer springs.

Notice it says 3" leaf springs, not 3" lift. Lift will be leaf springs plus shackle depending on the shackle. Check my sig. On sale

3" TG springs put me around 5.5" of "lift" ... ive since done some changes (changed my front hangar positioning and removed the 2 bottom leaves) and im closer to 4" now

stock toyota SA shackles are about 3.5" Eye to eye:

a 5" shackle will get you about 3/4' more lift (1/2" for each 1" increase in length)
I think the T-G kit comes with 4.5" shackles

84 pickup TG 4in lift?

Does anyone have any pics of a 84 pickup with the Trail Gear 4 in lift with 35's? Im just wanting to get an idea of what the stance looks like and how well it flexs.

if your gonna spend money on lifting it, trail gear is crap for flexing. go with marlins springs, they flex the best ive seen. marlin might have discontinued their suspension line, so go with all-pros springs, they are the same.

I've had every kind of spring there is on all sorts of trucks. Leaf springs are leaf springs for the most part. The folks that trash leaf springs set them up improperly with no bump stops and they negative arch them.

Those are 4" leaf springs and 37s.

Hmmm... Really?

Trail gear 4 inch front and 5 inch rear plus some tweaks that are explained in my build thread in the sig.

The night we finished.
