2nd gen 4runner 22re sr5
So I was looking through some Craigslist ads this weekend and came across a fully loaded 92 4runner 4x4 automatic with the 22re engine. This one even has the factory roof rack and the rear spoiler thing. The only thing it was missing was a sunroof. Normally I see these trucks as bare bones models with just a 5 speed and basic amenities, manual everything, etc. The seller is asking 6k. My question is- how rare is this configuration? And does the price seem fair considering this?
All this considered, would it be wise to trade him for my 97 4runner Limited?
Thougts and opinions?

Why downgrade? 22re is a crap engine compared to the 5vzfe. Coupled with an Auto? That's slower than a snail turd. Everything about the '97 is superior. The '92 will have issues.
The configuration is uncommon, but doesn't mean its worth $6k. That's insane.

What do you mean by issues? By the way, here's the link:

It does seem a bit expensive but it is easier to drop the price if it really needs to sell.
I am sure they would take $6500.00 if you offered
Used vehicles are a regional market depending on a lot of factors .
The 2.4 and auto combination is not known for any land speed records
I would rather have a 22REC under some circumstances then a 3.4 when my 3.4 engines get 1/2 million miles with only timing belts and normal maintenance then I can compare the 2 engines.
If they are selling one vehicle why would you think they might want yours??
I tend to agree why would you want to get a older vehicle unless your 1997 Has very high miles and needs several $$ Thousand in work you can not do.
