Can a 27 spline axle be used as a trail spare in place of a 30 spline axle if the 30 spline breaks?

 

Just the shaft or the birf no. Gotta use both as 27 spline is at middle joint, 30 splines on both ends.

Ok, followup question. Are all axles from a toyota solid axle setup 30 spline at the center section and 30 spline at the hub and then 27 spline at the birfield?

I am making a rubicon run and want to carry spare axles and knuckles. I have a 1982 toyota pick up in my back yard. Can I take the axles and knuckles off that and use them for spares or could there be a possibility that those are 27 spline axles?

The axles in my runner right now are 30 spline in what I think is a 4cyl diff.

 

All the mini truck 79-85 stuff is the same pickup or 4Runner concerning the front axles and birfs. I got tons of them.

Just curious what did the 27 spline axles come in if they are all the same. My 85 front axle has 30 spline at the carrier and 30 spline at the hub. Normal?
