The swap is complete!!!! I put my sock wiring harness back in the dash and now everything is operatoinal. I have the stock AFM from my 22re, is that going to cause the engine to run rich?

 

I swapped the RE computer to the turbo CPU. It will idle fine until I give it some gas, then it will load up and backfire a few times. then the idle will get rough for 10 seconds or so then smooth out to normal. I will keep searching through the posts for some more info.....thanks

 

That sound right, I will adjust the AFM and check for vacuum leaks.

 

You installed a 22rte with a 22re harness and everything just plugged in with the only issue is that your rinning lean?

 

You can`t use a computer for a regular 22RE on a 22RTE engine, there programed different. I was on ebay a few days ago looking through the toyota parts listings and there was a computer for a 22RTE listed, i don`t know how much it was though, but it might be what you need ?.

 

I used the rte cpu, stock 22re wiring harness, rewired the fuel pump to a separate relay and she fired right up, revs fine, drove around a little but the motor loads up and throughs out black smoke (to much fuel)

 

any word on what happened here?

 

Did you use the stock 22re AFM?
