22re running rich

22re running rich

new to the site, live in Northwest florida, hi to all yota owners...I have just put a remaned 1986 22re in my truck...problem is it is running very rich, strange thing the old motor did not run rich I have cleaned the throttle body, replaced the temperature sensor...cold start works great does not leak truck cranks good and idles but after about 5 minutes it starts using more fuel than it needs..really want to fix this can any of you yoga guys help....??

Sounds kinda like a timing issue. Do you happen to know what offset you used when you timed the vehicle?

If you figure it out post up your fix because my 4runner every now and then will run so rich it smokes black for a few seconds then runs fine for a week. I tired, tested everything under the hood to no prevail. mines intermittent so makes it hard to diagnose, but your issues might shed light on mine. As of now I am leaning toward a bad ecu because all other FI components are new or something happened when I removed the EGR when I did my rebuild.

Okay I found my problem my number 2 injector was not pulsating, was basically just shooting a straight stream putting to much gas in, I rewired the injector tested it to make sure it was pulsating, problem solved truck cranks and idles excellent...
