22re engine starts then dies after a couple of seconds

In need of some help!! I recently installed a rebuilt 22re from Portland engine rebuilders and been having some problems with the engine starting up and quickly dying after a couple of seconds. Funny thing is if I give it gas it stays going then eventually dies again if no throttle given. Any suggestions on where or what I should look for? It’s got a new fuel filter, new injectors. New fuel pump. It also has air injection and egr delete with a resistor from LCE. All vacuum lines that aren’t being used are capped properly. I can’t seem to find any vacuum leaks. Would appreciate any help🤙🏾

note: this is a automatic converted 5 speed (1989 2wd Toyota pickup)

Pretty engine!

Timing set correctly? Did you check the o-ring on the idle adjust screw to make sure it's still good? Not cracked, broken, missing, and so on? Idle adjusted to the correct RPMS? TPS properly adjusted? VAFM resistances tested and correct?

Wiring to the ECU from everything under the hood checked and verified good? COR checked OK?

O2 sensor tested and correct?

Any intake gaskets leaking, cracked, failing, etc? Throttle body clean and free to move correctly?

Just throwing out ideas...

Whats up man! thank you for the help!

Came out to being a vaccum leak from the throttle body gasket. I had a brand new Gasket from DnJ ended up replacing with Fel-Pro.

Changed that idle screw o-ring! Thanks for the heads up!!

set the idle and it runs soo good!

I'm glad you got it so good!

Glad I could be a small help. Fel-Pro are the gaskets I use. You do have to be careful putting things together, though. Don't want to damage them putting things together.
Never, ever, reuse a gasket, BTW. That especially includes the crush washers all over the fuel system. If you're going to be working on the fuel system, have a number of crush washers on hand. Nothing ever goes together right the first time. If you only have one crush washer left, it will leap out of your hand, and vanish under the truck. Sneaky little critters, they are.

Enjoy! Remember to stay up on maintenance. Belts, hoses, plugs, wires, oil, water, all of it. You'll have a vehicle that will last forever
