22r Highway Cruising Speed

I just picked up a little 88 pick up with a 22r and a 4spd tranny. I was wondering what a good highway cruising speed is on these, no rpm gauge so i can't really tell.

the highway speed limits were 55mph back then, so it was probably designed to cruise happily around there. I've never driven a 4speed pickup but my 5 speed 87 pickup cruises right around 60 with stock tires on it @ 3krpm. I'd imagine your 4 speed will be about the same. They're not fast.

That being said, the 22r series engine is very happy at high RPM so just turn the music up and cruise. The lack of power will limit you more than the engine speed.
