22R help!

I recently bought a 89' pickup 2 wheel drive and it has a 84' 22r in it. It had a little noise from the bottom end but it was not that bad. I took the oil pan down and i pulled a set of the old bearings out and every set was spun. they also were undersized 25 mm so either someone put to large of bearings in or someone did have the engine rebuilt. should i replace the bearings with new 25's? why would the old ones spun? i dont believe i need the crank turned, and when i put the standard sized bearings in they were to small I could feel the up/down play by hand.

Just my opinion, but I would pull the motor, have the crank checked out by a REPUTIBALE machine shop, have it turned if necessary, and install the proper sized bearings!
A band-aid fix is not a good idea...
Oh, welcome to Yotatech!!

man thanks for the reply im still tryin to figure this site and truck out. my mom had a 98' 4runner sr5 that had almost 400k my brother rolled it tho and it never turned over again. anyways i bought this pickup or fourhundred bucks. i knew it needed some work possibly a new engine/rebuilt but hell the mosti would be in would be 1200 bucks most of the work myself. But i just got the new bearings in the knock is quieter i can avoid the nise but switching gears early. but i will see how far these bearings will go my own opinion i think i can atleast get 3k to 50k out of them the bearings were only 25 buck. But thanks again and sorry this was long its my first reply i got. worst comes worst ill find a motor with a good bottom or take my crank a get it turned and do it the right way.
