Used the search function and a lot of threads became inconclusive.

I have a 92 SAS p/u with a 22r with a weber carb.

I was having issues with fuel getting to the carb. Truck didn't want to start or once enough fuel built up, the truck wouldn't run for a long time. Tested the fuel pump, and it was the culprit. I bought a new fuel pump(electric, which what the previous owner was running), new fuel filter, hoses, etc. Slapped it all in there and the truck started perfectly. Decided to take her for a spin and started going through my gears and as soon as I hit 2500rpm in 3rd, the truck just bogs bad and wants to die out. I just threw it into neutral to coast to the side of the road. Truck runs perfect in 1st gear. Is this a carb adjustment issue? Always owned toyotas but they were always 22re's

Have you repeated the action? If its only once could have been a chunk of stuff that broke free. Probably not but you never know.

Has it bogged more than once? Yeah, I did some slight adjustments, though it was dark, and was just more concerned with getting home. Was in a ghetto neighborhood lol.

Definitely see if its repeatable repeat it 2-3 times confirm its in 3rd gear, and not all others. Also since it sounds like fuel. When was the last time the fuel filter was changed. It can be a pita but cheap easy place to start if you having fuel problems. Good luck

 

It happens in 2nd but at higher rpms. 3rd happens at 2500. Haven't got to shift to fourth because, well, it bogs and wants to stall.

as my op says, I changed out my fuel pump and filter along with new hoses.

Going to adjust the carb today after reading the redline tutorial

I can't find the idle speed screw. I found the mixture screw, but the other one isn't where it is supposed to be
