2003 Tacoma Rear Axle swap into 1995 4runner

So, a little background information. I had a 2003 Tacoma, V6, TRD, 5-Speed, with a Fabtech 6" lift, no blocks in the rear, custom springs to make up for the blocks. However, I got hit and the insurance totaled the truck out. After a couple months, I ended up buying a 1995 4Runner, to eventually do a 3.4L swap, since I bought the Tacoma back from the insurance. After trying to get emissions to pass on the 4runner, I decided to start my swap, and finished last week with it. Over a year in the process!
Now, since I still have many of my Tacoma parts, I was wondering if I could do a rear axle swap? Your probably asking why, well the Tacoma axle has 5.29 gears like the 4Runner's front end, and the 4runner has a spool in the back so it is always locked and I'm just annoyed with it, oh, and the Tacoma axle has an e-locker. The 4Runner is lifted, so the Tacoma springs would be a pretty close match, oh, and my 4Runner is a truck 4Runner, so the rear end portion of the cab has been chopped off, I don't know if that really drops the weight a whole bunch, but just so you know.
I know the Tacoma axle is 1.5" longer than the 4Runner's. I have read lots about the chevy 63" rear spring swap. Would this swap just entail me having to do the chevy 63" swap, but also having to remove my spring perches, and welding new ones in to line up with my frame? I know my welding spots will be different than that of the chevy 63," but is the concept the same? Or is there something else I am completely forgetting? Any information will be greatly appreciated. I have looked everywhere and haven't seen anybody else that has done this swap.
Thanks.

Thumbs up

I'd love to know myself! I've seen a guy do a rear leaf spring conversion and had a T100 rear axle with it, but he didn't specify the year. But going by his spring job, I don't see why not?
