2 oxygen sensors????? wtf
So last night, I was looking at the exhaust pipe as I pulled out my old catalytic converter to put in a new one. I looked up and saw that my truck has two o2 sensors, one before the cat and one after. I checked the vin sticker and it showed that my 4runner was made in 11/94. Am I missing something or is my truck an OBD2 type. I thought anything made from 1995 and before was OBDI.
The sensor is hooked up and is reading, when I unplug it I get a CEL. The pipe after the cat is not factory and neither is the muffler. Will this hurt my California smog test or what. Any help is greatly appreciated.

My buddy's '94 pickup has 2 O2 sensors, it is a CA emissions engine. You'll also likely have a temperature sender on the EGR valve. And his truck has the old style diagnostics connector array up under the hood.

You have Kalifornia emissions. It will tell you under the hood if it is OBD 1 or OBD 2. Also some Japanese manufacturers will have an OBD 2 connector and it will have OBD 1 emissions before the year of 1996.
