1st Gen. Ball Joint Lube

I can't seem to find a grease nipple or plug for lower ball joints on an 88 4runner. The uppers have a nipple...easy as pie. All of my manuals are maddeningly vague on this...are the lowers permanently lubed?
Thanks

No lower zerk, but you can add one - drill, tap, insert. If you do add one, don't leave it there - pull out the zerk and replace it with a set screw so that it's less likely to be damaged by rocks, curbs or jacks. As for permanently lubed - I dunno. Mine are still fine after almost 19 years and over 230,000 miles.

Thanks for the input MTNFREAK!
I had to get a key made at the dealership, so I cornered the Service Manager, and asked him cold. To my surprise, he knew!
Theres a nipple in the casting that attaches to the top of the ball joint. It is located on the surface closest to the centerline of the vehicle. It is nestled in between two castings with just enough room to poke a grease gun in. You will need a flashlight to see it.

If I recall - mine had a BOLT there - I had to add a zerk.

I used a 90 deg one so its easier to get to later....
