hello,
i have a 1985 toyota pick up 22/re 4x4 sr-5-speed.

after driving, i turn off vehicle, when turn on, sometimes, nothing,or a click.
then after waiting, and turn key on ..off re pete .... then when starts... hard to start ,,,seems low charge ,,,,,, also ,,,,when starts cold it cycles .. a noise like a spinning,, then stops,, some times when happens check engine light goes on until .,. the cycling stops and normal....

The starter needs servicing or replacing.

yup, needs new starter or rebuild the starter you have.

my 85 22re does that, i just grab the fan belt and wiggle it left and righta few inches and it starts, the cycleing you were talking about may be a bad starter gear

Sounds like a possible bad armature in the starter. Install a good quality reman starter with a 12 volt starter booster relay

is it a click when you turn the key, and then a "lower pitched" click when you let off the key?
