160 pt Inspection or Straight to Mechanic?
Cliffs: Should I do a 160 pt inspection at a Toyota dealer with my newly purchased 103K '04 4Runner?
Long Version:
Hi All, I've got an '04 sport 4wd. Purchased the car back in September with 100K. Currently have 103K on the clock.
I am was thinking of taking the 4Runner to the dealer for the 160 pt inspection as I have no service records on the vehicle. After the inspection, the plan is to take the 4r to my trustworthy Toyota certified mechanic to do any repairs that the dealer found.
Or, I can skip the inspection and go straight to my trustworthy mechanic and have him check out the car.
Thoughts?
ps....dont tell me to check out the 4r myself...I work more than full time and go to school full time...no time and I am painfully slow with mechanics! thanks!

If you don't trust your mechanic to perform a comprehensive inspection, why would you take it to him for repairs? If you do trust him, skip the dealer. If he's Toyota certified, he should know the ins and outs of these vehicles.
