will 315/75-16 fit ????
Im wondering if a 315/75-16 will fit witout a body lift. I have donahoe coils wheelers steelies 16x8 4" bs . No rear lift yet ? This will be on a 05 taco. Im sure they will fit but Im wondering if they will rub to bad if I wheel it ?

It'll fit but you won't be able to drive with it on. One bump and cya fenders. O yeah, also the tire too since it'll get caught on the body mount. Let's not forget the mud flaps and the bumper, o might as well just strip it all now if you want 35's.
Good luck as it's a venture most all will not want to do at all.
with 285/75/16 you'll experience "plenty" of rubbing. you can run 34" tires for show (street only) but don't even dare on the trails. Talk to Donahoe as they had 34" on their blue 05 but didn't bother to do much trails as they saw the rubbing was not going to be fun.

well I was gonna go with 285s but they are to skinny . since the the 05 looks so much larger than the previous years I think a larger tire would look much better. I think Im gonna go with a 305/70 since they are the same dia and a tad wider. I will be sure to post pics as soon as I get them on. wheelers steelies are suposed to arive tomorrow . Now if I can just decide on the tire and size

I have a 2005 reg cab 4x4 with the mods listed in my sig below. Here are pics with my lift and 285/75/16 BFG M/T tires (33"). I get a lot of attention. My tires rub the frame, but nothing serious. A wider tire or taller tire will be a major problem offroad without a bigger lift/cut fenders, spacers...
I have about 2.5" of suspension lift.
Tires aired down to 16-18 lbs have great traction. They are mounted on stock 16x7 rims and hold the bead just fine. I hope your rims fit over the front calipers. Check this before you mount tires on them so you can return them if they do not fit!!!
35" tires with my lift will not work. It would require fender cutting at minimum. I am running stock 4.10 gearing with the 33"s and want to re-gear to 4.88. I am doing a lot of wheeling with my 33" tires, and have no need to run 35" tires with what I am doing. (2 and 3 trails at BMRA, cleared a short 4 with no problems)
If you are looking to wheel it with the stock suspension then go for the 265/75/16 tires. They will fit the 2005 with no rubbing. My buddy OB runs these tires and will out wheel me any day of the week.

As I have stated im not running stock suspension I have donahoe coilovers, rear is stock for now but I dont think the rear is a problem even if I do run stock. As far as the wheels go , according to wheelers they have had no fitment issues with the 05 and there steel wheels( keeping my fingers crossed). the wheels have a 4" backspace so that should fix any upper a arm rubbing. I have a v6 so I dont think i will need to re-gear .
oh yea your truck looks pretty sweet. The 285 look pretty big in the photos . Just a little skinny. Well thanks for your advise . I think im gonna end up with 305/70s

Just a warning - with the 305s you are still going to have major rubbing off-road, and probably even a good deal on road. And no, just because the wheels have 4" backspacing, that doesn't mean you won't have trouble with the tire hitting the upper a-arm. I guess you'll just have to wait and see when you put them on ... but I can tell you right now it will involve cutting, regardless.

yea I do plan on taking it off the road on some trails and stuff. I just dont want to get 285s and then regret it later !!! I wish someone could really tell me if 305s would work or not .Like someone that has actually ran them with a similar setup .

oh and 1 more thing on the instructions for the coiovers recomend 285/75 with a 16x8 with a 5" backspace now correct me if Im wrong but isint that gonna cause serious rubbing with that backspace?

Are there BLs for the 05s yet? If so get a 1 or 2" BL and you should be fine also it'll make adding sliders easier. If not contact Roger Brown at 4Crawler offroad and he can probably make one up for you. I'd say your going to need alot more then 2.5" of lift. With my truck I had a 2" BL and cranked up t-bars and still needed to take more then an inch out of the back of my fenders to stop rubbing with 34s that are only 10.5" wide...I realize our trucks aren't nearly the same but IMO our fenderwells look to have more clearence.
