TRD lift question
I'm interested in lifting my 06 TRD DC but am unsure of the quality of lifts. What brand am I looking for? I don't want to spend a ton of money but won't settle just because something is cheap. I want to run 285/75R16's so I don't want to go more than 3" of lift. Thanks.

Dealer installed OME kit is going to be the only one that hits every need. If your going to have the truck for the long haul spend the money to do it right. See the link below

Not sure if they make it for that style or year but check out DAYSTAR. They make the polyurithane <---(spelled wrong) spacers that are anywhere between 1.5 to 3"s of lift. Its the cheaper and do it yurself way. It cost me around 400$ for the 2.5 lift kit. I have coil over rear axel in back and IFS in front. I think its a pretty good height and looks cool, I dont rub on the tires either which are basicly like 32's.

Adding a lift won't void your warranty. There's a law called the Moss-Magneson act which basically says that the warranty for your truck will still be in affect. If a part fails, they have to prove that your lift directly caused the failure.
So if you lift your truck 12 inches and add 40 inch tires and the air conditioning stops working, the warranty must cover it because the lift didn't cause the problem.
But if a CV joint were to break, it would be extremely unlikely that they would pay to fix it, unless there was a recall or TSB on that part.

DON'T go the spacer route! Pay the extra and go with the OME (Old Man Emu) lift kit. It's worth it. I just got rid of my spacers in favor of the OME It cost me $70 for each new coil and $89 for each shock. I have an AAL in the rear from the previous lift but I will be changing those out later for in favor of something from Deaver or Alcan.

what is aal? I'm also interested in different wheels. I want black ones, but what backspacing do I need so that the tires stick out just a bit? Also, how in the heck do you measure for/figure backspacing?
