Mag Light mount on an 03.

After a bit of experimentation, here is where I decifed to mount the MAG LIGHT. The screws had to be cut down a bit, but it holds a 4 cell great. Perfect size... Sorry the files are so big... Hope you have DSL or Cable...

I have a 3-D cell and just have it on the floor between the driver's seat and door. Never thought about the glove compartment -- great idea!

Somebody edju-ma-cate me; why is the maglite mounting such a popular mod? I saw it alot on the Xterra board too. I don't get it

btw, the mounting in the glovebox looks very clean!

Nice installation

FirstToy, the Maglite serves two purposes.
1. It's a great light for the money, and very usefull.
2. Makes a hell of a weapon

I have used mine many a time at night.

What a maglite will do...

...take my word for it...it will knock a Great Dane completely unconscious! and still work later.

I have used my maglite a zillion times for stuff and it is nice to know where to find it when I need it.

You have used your Maglite many times as a weapon at night? Cool!

I don't think my modified $400.00 - 6 cell 15 watt LED Mag will fit in the glove box, but that IS a good idea, if you don't use the space for anything else. My glove box is packed with stuff!

Since everyone needs one, it just looks better when it's properly mounted (so it won't move around when your offroading!

I have mine located on the left side of the drivers seat and I hear it move quite often but I don't mind Hopefully when I finally decide to get some floor mats (husky), I'll just mount it to that.

Does everyone here use Maglites only btw? Where are the surefire members? or even the streamlight members? I know we have to have a few that has either or both!!!

I've got 5-6 sources of light in my truck:
From those LED flashlights to the one with the twisty neck.

This one is my favorite by far

I have my mag light resting right between my driver seat and the middle consol. theres no mounting needed... it just slides right in

i have my spot light too... it makes my mag light seem weak

Yup!
$45 at a gun show a few years ago and it's definitely worth it.

After all, if police officers trust this brand of light to use with their guns on night shoot qualifications, then it's good for me

I removed the grab handle above the drivers side rear door. I then slightly reamed out the holes in the maglite brackets and mounted them using the same screws that held the handle before. It looks great and is out of the way but easy to get to. If you put the head facing the rear, it won't slide out. Even with the head facing forward, it's really tight.

FWIW I have mine mounted below the arm rest on the drivers side door... easy access and it never gets in my way. I used to have it on the passenger side of the shift console... this is in a 99 taco.
