Lookin at getting an 06 DC, Questions?

I'm looking into trading my 2000 4runner for an 06 Tacoma DC, 4x4, 6 speed. I was at the dealership today and noticed that some of the Tacomas have Prerunner on the tailgate and others don't. Both of the trucks that I was looking at had the TRD off road package. Can someone explain?

Also I noticed that in the off road package you get the locking rear diff and not the LSD. Which is better?

Thank you

The prerunner is a 2wd built on a 4WD frame. I would go with the locker instead of the LSD.

Thank you, As it looks right now I'm going to start looking for a DC, V6, 6speed, 4x4 with option package B which is the TRD Off Road package.

FYI, a good read over at TTORA, and Toyota Nation would be full of good info for you. Some of the 05-06 DC's with the locking rear have had problems with the rear carrier.

I myself like the Sport, with the hood scoop and color-matched grill, mirrors, handles.

It has the TRD package, 6 disc in dash cd player, towing package and floor mats. Those are all the extra charges.
