Exclamation Hub Centric OR Lug Centric

Hey guys I have been getting mixed answers from my tire centers around here. so my question is are the 2005 4runner wheels/rims hub centric or lug centric i have been told they are both so now i don't know what wheel adapters to buy I am looking for 1-1/4 adapters but i am also having trouble finding a good quality adapters.
If you guys can help me out that would be great

Check out www.wheeladapter.com Fred can machine exactly what you want, probably in steel for your six lug application. While I have heard that 6 lug Toyota's are lug-centric, I believe they are best at being hub-centric. Less chance of lug sheer under stress, less chance of vibration at highway speed. 1 1/4" adapters may or may not allow for a hubcentic lip on the adapter due to the amount of original hub protrusion. I would suggest some comprehensive front and rear measurements to see if it is possible. Good luck!

Usually can tell by looking at the way the wheel and hub make contact (or not). Here is a closeup of my '85 front wheel, there is a visible gap between the hub and the inside of the wheel:

These are lug-centric. Another way to tell is if the wheel will center on the hub without the lug nuts. For example on my VW (hub-centric), there is a raised ring on the hub that the wheel fits snugly over. It'll stay right there until you insert the lug bolts. On the Toyota, the wheel just flops around on the lug studs until you snug down a couple of lugs nuts.

Alright so my wheels would be lug centric since my hub does not taper up like in those pics. thanks for those. now I looked into Freds adapters and they are saying they are about $240.00 for a pair. What other adapters would you guys recommend so that my wheel don't fall off from vibrating like crazy.

All toyota Alloys are Lug centric.

Most aftermarket rims are hub centric, and often times require a spacer to make them fit correctly.

I agree, I also have the 1 1/4" spacers. Spidertrax is the only way to go if you are looking for quality.
