Front end floor jack lifting point

Do these 4Runners have them. Do I need to remove the undercovers to access a solid point to lift the front of this thing with floor jack? The rear is easy -- the diff, but the front....

Thanks. I searched the threads but didn't find anything related.

Don't know about the 4th gen but on my 2001 I use the front crossmember. There is actually a round indentation in the skid plate that lines up with the crossmember.

Yeah, I know it's the front crossmember -- but where. But on a 4th gen, it's all flimsy tin belly pans that hide it. I guess I answered my own question. They gotta come off to jack the front end up with a traditional-style floor jack unless there's something to fit in that glory hole in the centre of the engine undercover.

Go to the local dealer, crawl under one and you'll see what I mean.

You should probably remove the cover the first time and check exactly where the crossmember is. After that you can probably find a spot on the cover where it lines up with the crossmember, assuming it does.
I've never really looked closely at a 4th gen underneath, something to do next time I see one.

center of the skid plate is just fine, if you take the skid plate out, look at the front center(flat part) next to the vent, there's some reinforcement. i use a floor jack with piece of 2x4 so it won't slip and scratch the bottom. i have done this many many times without any issues.
