change spark plug

change spark plug

i just changed spark plugs today for my 03 v6. one of the plugs (nearest to the driver side) had alittle oil on the top. Is that bad?

I havent taken my 3.4 apart yet, but if they have tube seals on the valve cover, you may need to replace that one. Not a huge ordeal, and it does not look like the oil is making it to the tip of the plug.

If you are talking about the stuff on the threads that looks like Anti-seize. When it gets hot it kinda looks like oil. Now if there is any oil on the electrode thats not good.
But I agree with Jimbo74, that looks fine.

i had alittle oil at the very bottom of the threads but just not on the electrode. not alot but maybe a drop or so....where you saw the oil was where the plug would normally be sitting inside the combustion chamber. only on this plug....the rest did not look the same


i will post a clearer pic tonight...

It looks like the oil was leaking down onto the plug a bit but from what I can tell the combustion at the tip has no oil at all....I wouldn't worry about it.

looks like anti-seize to me

pic taking tip: put on macro setting and make sure you have some distance between you and the camera. let the setting do the work.
