Buying a 4th Gen possibly as soon as tomorrow.

Question is regarding the difference between the SR5 model and the Sport model. I like the way the sport drives better, and like the look of the hood scoop (although I'm under the impression its mostly cosmetic ?).

I am going to be putting a lift on it, most likely an OME 3 inch. Now knowing totally what this entails I dont know if there would still be any benefit to the sport edition after the lift.

Thoughts?

The hood scoop is entirely cosmetic.
The Sport rides better because it has the X-REAS suspension system. Its a hydraulic balancing system designed to reduce body roll and improve ride charactoristics. When you lift the suspension, you might have to remove the X-REAS system entirely, unless you don't lift it much. I'm not sure how a 3" lift affects this, as I own an SR5.

xreas is removed completley with OME
OME rides better then xreas

 

You still get the bigger front brakes.

 

Sport model also comes with painted and heated side mirrors. Depending on where you live, the heated part is nice to have.

 

Is there a switch for the heating? I just got my 07 and haven't seen anything in my limited searching. The manual is THICK!

 

No switch. They come on when you turn on the rear defroster.

 

V8?? if your getting a 4th gen you better be getting a V8. I love the acceleration my dads V8 sr5 has
