Bumper ding/ dent
Well, Thursday was not so good to me. I topped the day off by stupidly backing my boat into the stop blocks for the trailer wheels a tiny bit too far. Instead of thinking and pulling the truck and boat forward to make the trailer did NOT jump forward as soon as I unlatched the hitch, I simply took off the hitch.
DoH!! so, while it's not bad, I dd make a small indent / mark on the silver bumper center section of our 04 SR5 V8 w/ tow package 4runner.
It looks like I can get one for 70 dollars from here, part 1.

Now, is that part silver painted and black plastic on top? I think all of these are painted silver on all models of the truck. Also, shipping of this part shouldn't be too bad since it is not a huge part, right?
That, and it looks like this piece is simply help on by the pop up pins. If so, that should be pretty easy to swap, right?
Otherwise, I would have to have a body shop fill and then repaint the piece silver. That would probably be more than 70 dollars.
Thanks,
Tom

I would just leave it. Its a truck (well, suv but you know what i mean,) and its going to get dents and scratches. If its not very bad, like you said, chances are that nobody will even notice it.
Save the money, or spend it on something even cooler for your rid

I would do that as well, but technically the truck is my fiance's, and she is PISSED!
Actually I would find a nice sticker and simply cover it and be done with it. It's not like it will rust. LOL
This is the first time in 20+ years of driving with trailers that I have dinged my truck with the trailer.

Oh haha i got ya
Check around at some wrecking yards and try to find one for cheaper, but if that fails, 70 bucks isnt to bad to keep your lady happy.
And it seems like it will be an easy install and no shipping shouldnt be to bad.

I was with my dad towing a boat when it came off the hitch, trailer caught up to us and put a nice big dent in the back door of the suburban. Oops.
So just be glad its just a cheap $70 part lol

I was very relieved to see it was a 3 piece bumper, and that the part was only 70.
Now if the bottom part is painted, then that is a very good price. otherwise I will buy
a rattle can of the exact factory paint and paint it myself.
I will see after the weekend what if any local yards have the part for. From what I can tell, most if not all 03-09 4runners have the same color silver part there. That is unless the limiteds have body color, or the 03 is all black grey rubber plastic.

What I am seeing is that the local yards only want to sell the whole rear bumper assembly, and not a single cover piece
I sent a message to a place on here that sells all used yota parts. Hopefully they can help me out.
