air intake question

i have 1991 pickup 22re-bone stock. i've noticed alot of people who have switched the places of the battery and air box the give a shorter, more direct flow the the intake. i was wondering if this was a long process and how to run the battery wires to the new location, or is there a better way to increase colder air??

This was posted in the wrong area... It's okay though.
The moving of the airbox is to increase flow, if you look alot of the movements also convert the stock airbox into the cone filter just because its more thurough, but if you were to contain it after and get a direct flow from below the headlight you'd technically be pulling in "colder"/lower air. And as for switching the sides you'd just need to check out your cables from the battery and then re-rout those wires and move the brackets that house the battery and stock airbox.
