It's where you plug in your curling iron.

Most likely a light to tell you the factory alarm is set when you set it and is used to help deter would-be thieves from breaking in because they can see it has an alarm, that is set.

I've seen a lot of random lights like that in cars around town. Those were from buy here pay here places. Idk what they were for, but they put them there.

All of the buy here pay here places I've seen just add in their own security feature to disable the car in case you don't pay. All they do, basically is find the wire that goes from the ignition switch to the starter and splice their box to that. I've taken a couple of them out just because I hate waiting for the beeps to start the car.

The light, I've always assumed was the receiver for the device. When you make a payment they give you a code that you type in using a little remote.

If you don't use the system then, IMO, take it out. No need for useless stuff to be wired in. But if the place you bought the car from uses it then leave it in there..might void some kind of warranty with them.

Could make a clever/fake security light that blinks.

Not sure on the SR5, but the switch on my 2003 LTD is for the AC outlet inside the center armrest console.
