2010 Tacoma ABS/TracControl Light on/No brake lights
Hello,
The ABS light and traction control light popped on, havnt noticed any difference in the way the truck drives. I hooked computer up to it and it ran code 1246 which after googling looks like the brake actuator needs to be replaced. One thing I did read on one of the web pages is if the brakes are not working then the brake switch can cause both of those lights to come on. Well, at work today after I got back from my buddies shop we realized I had no brake lights. Any help would be appreciated. Hopefully the brake switch is causing this b/c the brake actuator itself is very expensive I believe.
Thanks

Looking up the diagnostic procedure for that code, (c1246- master cylinder pressure sensor malfunction) it does say it looks for a stop light switch signal, so if your stoplight switch had failed, I believe it would set a code. Try replacing the switch and clearing the code and see if it comes back.
