Hey, I just got a 2006 tacoma and I really want to turn all the traction control off. I searched and i didn't find anything about it. This is the model year before the off switch installed.

Can i install the switch myself, will the ECU accept the switch?
Is there any other way around it without turning 4wd on?

Please help!!!!!

 

If you can accept an ABS light on at all times, and like to drive without ABS brakes disconnect an ABS wheel sensor. It will kill the traction control.

You can disable the traction control by following the these steps:
1. Start the truck
2. Before you move the truck - Push and hold the TRAC button for ~3 to 5 seconds

You have to do this every time while you are stopped/parked for every key cycle but it works and it doesn't cost you anything.

 

Rado... can you read? he has an 06 model that doesn't have the TRAC button. hate when people give bad information
