08 Runner Navigation working without clear sky?

I am thinking about replacing my 98 runner with 08 runner. Like to know if I get one with Toyota Navigation, does it work in the environment without clear sky, like in dense wood forrest.

My wife has 07 Honda CR-V with Navigation. It has connection to speeding sensing, hence it continue keep track of route using speed sensing. It will re-calculate after re-acquired with satellite, when there is clear sky later.

This will be the only reason I will get an OEM Navigation, otherwise, I will continue using my Garmin.

I have Lexus RX330 (similar Navigation as in 4Runner) and the unit works in any weather. Toyota NAV is connected to the speed sensor (as pretty much all factory NAVs) and in situations where the signal is lost, NAV will guess your destination. But so far the NAV connection in our RX (4th Gen NAV) has been very strong and even in the muddy weather the signal was at least 80-90%.
