I'm new to that forum . I would like say hallo to everybody.

I'm new to 4 runner, just got my 2003 V6 on a road 2 weeks ago. I got it wrecked and very cheap, so didn't have too much choice - it's RWD.
Now I'm thinking how many changes I will have to make to convert it to 4x4.
What beside front diff, shafts, TC, rear drive shaft, A340E to A340F rear case modification.
Could I use 3rd gen front diff and TC or I must use 4th gen stuff ? I'm not going to make SAC, maybe just some lift .
Any ideas ?

 

The best option IMO is to sell the 2WD and get an older 4WD. "Converting" to 4wd is no small feat, no matter how you slice it.

 

It's very simple...

Drive to the dealer and trade it in.

Seriously, with all of the computer controlled components it's not going to be an easy conversion.

 

us guys with the VSC, i dont know about a 4th gen but its gonna be uber hard for me.

thing is I have to do non ADD front with manual hubs and shafts taco chaindriven tcase, however this tcase wont work with an 4th gen tranny, so you mise well trade in. Ive been pondering it myself however mine is so built up i would have 1000s of crap to pull off and transfer over.

dont mod it so trade it in

 

Screw it, be the first to SAS it!!!!!

Add a T-Case, crawl box, lockers, etc.... And wheel the hell out of it!

Or, just trade it in.
