Same thing happened to me when I called a local shop. I had 34s on my 4runner and the guy laughed and said "sorry we don't align monster trucks".

i just brought my rig into les schwabb last week for an alignment and knew ahead of time that they had a 4wheel align[impossible on ours]thrust align[align front from angle of rear],standard align[align front from the front],and finally lifetime align[140 or sumthin fer life...]
I told the person at the desk that i wanted a standard and a before and after printout and that is it . she refused to give me a price and said"well you might need a 4wheel align.etc..etc"]until i told her that was impossible etc..

i was worried i would get shafted and just wanted a standard period...i was real clear about it and everything but still they came out an hour later and had performed a thrust alignment when i had asked for a standard....my steering wheel wasnt even centered too...in my mind and in my town[poulsbo washington, les schwabb]they are a bunch of unashamed bottomfeeders..
they are not even in the slightest ashamed of themselves and most commercial mechanics ive met are the same..thats why i try like heck to learn to work on my own stuff where possible and why i say thank god for sites like this...i mean if you think about it a professional wrencher has it real good..indoors, payed well, workin on cool stuff, and doesnt have to sit at a stationary desk all day so why cant they just quit sucking blood out of the rest of us and be happy already!! some of the wrenchers i know of make like 60-80 bucks an hour and yes that is after expenses!!!anyway ill stop ranting now im sorry i just really hate it when i see the greed flashin across their faces..

That's too bad, I do like Les Schwab. Where I'm from they're probably the most respected. But I know that DS are found everywhere.

lol, exactly as I put it!

glad everything turned out good though and everyone's still on good terms...

I need an alignment, but I'm going install BJ spacer, replace all the steering linkage, and all 4 new ball joints at the same time, so I'll wait till I do that...

Yeah it's a good time to do those things while you're in there. I probably should have also but money is freaking tight this week.

sometimes you can cheat the wheel bearings by just a little 'snuggemdown'...
just a thought.

I though about that last weekend when I did mine; the 2 nuts, well I removed them both by hand, lol

but I figured I was already in there, might as well ya know...

I was just going to repack them, but with that "might as well" mentality, I went ahead and replaced the wheel bearings, brakes, every seal, etc...
