heres a small frame repair i did, nothin major but this is a good way to make it stealth!

the problem was that rod sticking out witch was the old shock mount,on the frame,it was rotten all around it,so i cutted the bad part and fitted flush a new peice 1/8 inch steal plate, welded all around it ,and grinded everything!

the plate

welded and grinded

i welded that with my arc welder with some 7018 rod,at about 115 amps, vertical going up !

I would never use a MIG welder on the frame. I like the deep penetration of an arc welder... lets the metal flow together.

Then again, ive only used the cheapest of welders from harbor freight, which are pretty ty.

Yep, my MM 251 Mig welder just doesn't get good enough deep penetration...doesn't let the metal flow together.

What HF sells is a stretch in most cases in deeming a "welder".

Shouldn't be hard to find c-clips as you usually have to bust them to get them out.

Looking good!

im assuming you welded that metal onto the axle for support? or was it just a simple cosmetic choice?

i hope so! haha, seriously i dont have a clue, but if it was in the kit i assume its doing some kinda magic! lol

anyway,i really coudnt wait to set my axle under my springs,so i did the steering, and shocks as well, just all perfect except its a little high in the back,i should ev took the 5inch for the back, but anyway ill make some custom lenght shackles! and itl be a winner!

front tire is just in the air at about the correct height ,just to give an idea!
