Would you buy a 90 4Runner for $500?

Well, I went to look at it and it turned out to be one big rust bucket. The interior was trashed to the point where nothing would have been salvageable, I still don't know what's wrong with the engine. The frame was rusted in several places.
So I didn't get it. Though a guy I work with has a line on a 87 4Runner that runs, but overheats. It needs a top and doors, but he says that the body has almost no rust and the interior is in great condition. All this for $400.

either get the other one, or put that cash into the vehicle you have now, a quick spacer lift, and some sliders, and wheel it, (I did that for about 3 years) mine is my DD and my baby, but they can be wheeled and wheeled hard, and still drive ya back home.
