Worth going from V6 S12W calipers to S13W?

Hey guys, I tried searching for info comparing the S12W vs S13W calipers but I see most owners that switch to S14w's are coming from 4 cylinder calipers. I have an 89 4runner that has a leaky MC and Booster and thought if I was replacing those that it might be worth just switching everything over to a 2nd gen S13 setup.

My question to you guys is if you think the gains going from the S12 to the S13 is worth it. Budget isn't too much of an issue I just don't want to waste money on new calipers/rotors/pads if it isn't going to be a noticeable difference.

Thanks a lot!

I've wondered the same thing. I made the upgrade from 4cyl to SW12 and it is an improvement. I also put T100 wheel cylinders in the rear drums. I've contemplated the SW13 calipers but have not tried it yet.

Upgrade to the T100 rotors as well, they are slightly thicker and slightly larger.

92+ 4runners and T100s. The earlier V6 runners had the S12W

Thanks bucket, that means I should have the 13's. I scored a nice set of calipers and like new rotors from a 95 v6 runner at the local pull a part a few years ago.

Thanks for the responses guys, from what I have read there isnt anything specifically showing it is worth the swap unless you needed to replace worn calipers and rotors anyways. Then in that case if you have then of course the s13w would be the choice... Im going to wait until then.
