Wont start when freezing
Ok- 88 4runner 22re, 5spd, recently put on new head and cam. starter, alternator, battery, cable ends, all connections good. After driving in a blizzard all night truck wouldnt start the next morning. so routine heat the starter and tap on it. after parking it in the garage with the heater it fired right up. next morning same thing. i have since replaced the already new starter with another new one. still wont start when cold. NO cranking no click just nothing when you hit the key as if you didn't have the clutch in. everything else works (no battery issues) there is a click that comes from the glovebox area when you hit the key but it has always done that. i understand there is no starter relay on this? what could be my issue? any help huge thanks

That's weird I thought it was the other way around with starter, they don't like heat. I would open up the wiring diagram in the fsm and take a look. You might just have to start hunting down the wires and checking them. I just did this recently and found out what was cauing my no start problem when Ii installed my new wires and alternator.
