So i thought i had a bad starter, i replaced it and put in a new battery. When you turn the key you get one click/thump sound and then nothing. This sound seems like its coming from the passenger side behind the dash but not positive. its been doing this for a few months now, typically after several tries and sometimes turning the key and holding it, it will then turn over. but the last few days i havent been able to get it to turn over at all. Any ideas on what this is?

 

check your cables,
it sounds like it is coming from the passenger side because that is the location of the starter

 

cables all seem good. noise is coming from dash on passenger side.
