Wolf Cargo cover

I wanted to keep prying eyes off the stuff I keep in the back of my 4Runner. After much searching around and working on a design of my own I found a cargo made to fit the 1st gen by Wolf.

The cover is waterproof and the coating on it makes it a breeze to clean, even if it gets covered in mud (been there done that  ) The cover also has plastic strips in it to give it some extra rigidity. 8 elastic cords attatch to clips that screw in to the sides of the cargo area and hold the cover rigid.

I have tested the cover out and even with the hard top off and cruising at highway speeds the cover holds and doesn't flap.

The cover cost $75 Canadian which was pricey but it was easier than trying to make one.

I say if you think it's resonable and you can afford it then just go ahead and get it.

Wake up Sleepy! LOL...Mack's got the cover. He's letting the 1st gen's know what's out there since they don't have the window shade roll ups we do...hey Mack, your Runner looks nuts with the back off. pretty amazing that cover stays put at highway speed.

Hey there Mack.
That cover is real nice. I would be interested in something like that. Could you send me some info on how to order one

P.S. What is the deal with all the dead fords in the background of your picture. Are those your trophies

I ordered it from my local Lordco but I wont repeat that mistake as they screwed up and sent it back to the main office when it arrived. I believe Performance Products carries them.

As to the Fords in the background I had the 4Runner up at a friends farm to do some work and to help take the cover off. He has a lot of Fords (over 25 trucks as well as 2 Cougars and a Mustang) and a little Toyota pickup.

Oh so true we take a real beating on exchange and duties up here in the Great White North when we order from the US but on some things like electronics and food we get it for way cheaper up here than down in the States. Gotta love that free market economy.

What next? How about...

Hey Mack/David, from bad experiences with my last 4runner, I am quite certain that I want this thing.
Would you consider the following; 1. buying one for me (with my money) from the friendly neighborhood Lordco if still available, 2. loaning/renting/other yours so that I can use it as a model for a similar design (my girlfriends family does this pro), 3. Taking some pictures so I can attempt to dup and/or improve it . ?
On that line, can you thik of any way this thing is lacking? any possible upgrades? Thanks! D!

They sell that same cover at Performance Products...or at least they did cause I purchased one for my 2nd generation. Try checking performanceproducts.com. Hope that helps.

The covers at PerfProd are for the 2nd and 3rd gens, the 1st gens are much smaller and have cutouts for the roll bar. Some of their stuff is cool, but I have yet to find a strictly 1st gen specific item at PP, which this is... Thanks though, appreciate the eyes open!
