Wiring Harness on a 3VZE motor question

I'm swapping out my 3vze with blown head gaskets with a motor from a wreck and my question is can you remove the wiring harness with the motor from the truck? It looks to me like the plenum will have to come off first and the wiring harness disconnected from all the connections and then pull the motor. That will be a royal PITA if that's the case. Any help is appreciated, thanks! I was hoping that the harness would unplug somewhere but for the life of me I can't see where.

you need to go under the passenger side kick panel and unbolt the ECU and unplug your connections there and then up in the engine bay you can pull the wires through.... Make sure you get at least one good harness out of the deal eh?!

Yes, it will unplug just inside the firewall on the engine ECU, remove the entire harness w itht he engine. One leg will run down the transmission ot the oxy sensor, but easier to leave the harness on the engine. What year is your rig and what year is the engine going into it?

it is a 1995 4 runner and the motor came from a wreck of thesame year. That is a big relief to me now. I think I can probably handle that and get that harness out now. The one off of the wreck motor is cut and useless to me and the plugs were dry rotted and brittle. I hope that the harness on the truck with the old motor will be better. It has a 5 speed manual transmission with four wheel drive also if that matters.

Well this solution will work out for me much better too as the motor that I have came out of a rolled over 4 runner with about 80,000 miles on it and the engine compartment was so messed up that the wiring harness was just cut to get the motor out of the wrecked truck. So I only have this one wiring harness to play with and I CAN'T mess it up. It has to come out in tact and be salvageable and be reused. I'm scared that all the plug ends on the fuel injectors are going to be brittle like they were on the wrecked motor and they are going to crack and break and then I'm going to have to buy a new harness anyway.
